Interviews are used to gain a deeper understanding of what participants learned, and/or how they experienced a program, and they can be used to learn more about their answers to a survey. They are also a great way to get to know your participants and community, though they do take more time than other methods. When creating an interview protocol or guide, give careful consideration to how cultural relevance is included. The PDF linked above provides more guidance on creating and implementing your own interviews.
